I think this is the longest I have gone without writing. Not particularly sure why. Meanwhile not much has happened on the DIY home front except I had to replace the dryer hose because it kept coming off the dryer. It’s something I have been meaning to do since we moved in because it was the old vinyl kind.
Replacing a hose is a simple task unless you have to actually do it in a 7 inch space. I had two options of doing this:
1. One was to slide the dryer/washer out of the closet to attach it to the back but I still had to somehow attach it to the floor. Not to mention that I also would have to detach the water lines. That concerned me because nothing leaked but you know darn well that once I messed with the hoses they would LEAK!!
2. The second option was to squeeze into the space with the dryer/washer and replace it.
I went for option 2 and it was interesting. To get back into the space I had to have “A” push and tilt the unit backward then exhale and squeeze in. I could barely move and could not squat down all the way. The process took about 10 minutes to complete and another 10 to extract myself.
The whole ordeal was rather depressing because when I looked at the pictures, I could only take them with my arms extended over my head, I saw how bald I was really getting. I had no idea.
