Marble floor and a Bertozzoni

Yesterday our floor tile came in at Home Depot and today our new range was delivered.

As you know we are preparing to completely remodel our master bath. The last room slated for major overhaul. We knew we wanted a marble floor but was unsure of exactly what style we wanted and if we could really afford it. I wanted a basket weave and "A" wanted hex but was OK with a basket weave if it didn't look too busy. We looked at several stone stores and were very disappointed in the prices.  They had wonderful stuff but at $45 a square foot (calacutta) it was way beyond our budget. We could get carrera for less but it was too gray.

Home depot had a type of marble floor they called "greecian white" and it was only 9.99sqft. With the military discount we only paid $9sqft. I am sure it is not up to the quality of $45 a sqft but it looks pretty darn good to me.

When we remodeled our kitchen we really wanted a Bertozzoni range but unfortunately could not afford it. They retail at around $2,800 and when you add the tax, delivery, installation charges it would be well over $3,000.  Two weekends ago we went to a place called Fixtures Living and it was a very high end place. We could not afford much there but then we came across what they call the F.A.R.M. ( cannot remember what it stands for). Anyhoos, this was where they had discounted items and guess what we found (cue music), a Bertozzoni.  After negotiating with the sales guy we got the unit, which was floor model, for $2,185. This included the price, tax, delivery and installation.

So tonight is my first meal I get to cook on the very first range that I have ever bought.  Tonight's meal is broccoli and beef stir-fry, yum yum!!!

The old one we will donate

You replaced retro style range to modern and cool one. You (and A?)must be inspired for cooking.
I know you don't hate cooking.

I am always inspired to cook because I am always inspired to EAT ☺ lol

"A" says she will be inspired to cook, but so far....no.
